F.A.Q.
The Alex Wardle Foundation was founded in 2016 in memory of Alex Wardle, who passed away in March 2016 aged 23, due to Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome. Our aim is to raise awareness of the condition and raise money for cardiac projects in the community.
S.A.D.S is a form of sudden cardiac death caused by a disturbance in the hearts rhythm. It accounts for around 1 in every 20 cases of cardiac death. Sometimes it is knows as Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.
The foundation works within the Philanthropy Foundation, reg. charity 1145808. Using their services reduces administration work for us and means we can spend more time and money on projects.
The funds our supporters have raised have enabled us to purchase & install life saving defibrillators at The Sir Joseph Paxton, Titchfield Common and Sarisbury Communtiy Centre, Sarisbury Green and provide first aid training courses. We have passed some of the money on to CRY to fund vital research into SADS.
Additionally we have provided defibrilators for Sarisbury Green Junior School, Horndean football club, Titchfield boxing club and Locks Heath Pumas Rugby Football club.
We have also supported Operation Help The Homeless with donations and gifted second hand bikes to those in need from poorer backgrounds.
